Sing
All The Way Home
by
Dawson Smith
Me and the Doc loved to ride out
Jumping the old county lines
We were always out there doing something
Leaving our troubles behind
With a band of amigos we’d travel
Through the snow and the wind and the rain
No matter how hard we would get there
But the road back was always the same
Chorus
And we’d sing all the way home
Sing all the way home
Someone called the tune
And we’d all play along
And we’d sing all the way home
Now the Doc he was always the joker
So many good times we had
I can still see him sitting there smiling
Driving all the rest of us mad
But the Doc he was there when you needed
A friend that could help you get through
If he ever saw someone in trouble
There was nothing that he wouldn’t do
Chorus
Then word came down Doc was missing
And we all knew that something was wrong
His boots were still under the table
But his favourite guitar it was gone
And I remember the last time I saw him
He said he had somewhere to go
He smiled and said I’ll see you later
Then he walked out the door
Chorus
